FAQ
How is the JT16 different from a 2D safety LiDAR?
It replaces planar 2D scanning with a 16-channel 360° × 40° 3D dome, so a robot sees obstacles at multiple heights — curbs, tabletops, overhangs — not just one slice. That matters for low chassis where a single 2D plane misses things.
Why is the point rate quoted as a range?
Hesai publishes up to 690k pts/s in dual-return mode, but effective density depends on the configured horizontal resolution and frame rate. Treat the headline as a best-case manufacturer figure until we verify your configuration.
