Livox Avia 2 NF Fanless Long-Range LiDAR

Fanless Avia 2 configuration for directional long-range point-cloud integration. It supports Normal and Focus scan modes, but its manual sets temperature-dependent continuous-operation limits; review cooling, power and the exact NF configuration before specifying it.

ConfigurationAvia2-NF; fanless
Detection range at 100 klxNormal: 400 m at 5% reflectivity; Focus: ≥800 m at 10% reflectivity
NF continuous operationNF manual recommends ≤30 min at 25°C, ≤10 min at 45°C and ≤1 min at 65°C; external cooling must be assessed.

Sourcebotics selection notes, based on the published documentation.

Application fit

  • Directional scanning projects that can accommodate a designed external cooling solution.
  • Comparing broad Normal coverage with focused long-range acquisition.

Integration planning

  • NF manual recommends ≤30 min at 25°C, ≤10 min at 45°C and ≤1 min at 65°C; external cooling must be assessed.
  • Official clearance conflict: NF Product Information requires ≥50 mm around and ≥150 mm above; NF User Manual says ≥10 mm around on a metal plate ≥3 mm thick. Resolve the installation specification before enclosure design.
  • Official power conflict: NF Product Information lists 50 W startup / 45 W stable at 25°C; NF User Manual lists 55 W startup / 50 W steady at regular temperature. The manual requires a supply capable of more than 55 W; confirm the delivered configuration.
  • Use the Avia 2-specific breakout cable for testing; it is sold separately and must not be interchanged with other Livox breakout cables. Design deployment cabling for the required environment.
  • ROS Driver 2 includes Avia2 examples; review and adapt the debugging driver before production use.

Selection considerations

  • Avia, Avia 2 with fan and Avia2-NF are distinct configurations. The NF documentation does not establish unlimited fanless continuous operation.
  • The 1000 m Focus cutoff uses 20% reflectivity and sufficient point-cloud integration time; it is not an unconditional object-detection guarantee.
  • NF Product Information and User Manual disagree on clearance, power and optical-window cleaning guidance. Confirm the applicable revision before installation or maintenance.
  • The September 10, 2026 v40.01.0506 release note is labeled Avia 2. Confirm package support for the exact NF hardware and serial number before updating.
  • NF stock, delivery date, order minimum, warranty and destination documents require a quotation; no manufacturer reference price has been adopted as a Sourcebotics offer.

FAQ

Does fanless mean continuous operation without extra cooling?

No. The NF manual recommends at most 30 minutes at 25°C, 10 minutes at 45°C and 1 minute at 65°C under its stated conditions. Assess external cooling and resolve the conflicting clearance guidance before deployment.

Can I use the Avia software package with Avia 2 NF?

The NF manual points to Livox SDK2 and ROS Driver 2. SDK2 added Avia2 support in version 1.4.0. Original Avia belongs to a different SDK generation; confirm firmware, driver and device configuration together.

Which power rating should I use for the NF model?

The NF Product Information states 50 W startup and 45 W stable at 25°C. The NF manual instead lists 55 W startup and 50 W steady at regular temperature and asks for a supply capable of more than 55 W. This documentary conflict remains unresolved.

Is Avia 2 NF currently in stock?

Official NF documentation is publicly listed, but this review did not establish stock, lead time, regional warranty or an NF selling price. Request a configuration-specific quotation.
