Livox Mid-360L Compact 360-Degree LiDAR
Compact 245 g LiDAR with 360° horizontal coverage and 100,000 points/s. Livox reports 45 m at 10% reflectivity under stated conditions; the 100 m output cutoff is a separate limit. Review near-field precision, 12–27 V supply and SDK2 version before integration.
Choosing this model
Read the product documentationSourcebotics selection notes, based on the published documentation.
Application fit
- Compact mobile-robot mapping and perception evaluation with full horizontal coverage.
Integration planning
- SDK2 adds MID-360L in 1.5.0; ROS Driver 2 adds it in 1.2.8. The driver is for debugging/testing and requires production adaptation.
- Allow about 14 W startup for about one second. The 4.2 W operating figure is not a power-supply peak rating.
- Manual recommends a metal plate ≥3 mm thick with ≥10,000 mm² exposed area, thermal gel and ≥10 mm airflow clearance; keep the bottom shell below 80°C.
- Manual p. 14 says M3 holes are 5 mm deep; the p. 15 drawing marks 3 mm thread depth. Confirm the applicable CAD and screw engagement before mounting.
- The optional 1-to-3 cable is for testing/debugging; specify deployment cabling and sealing separately.
Selection considerations
- The 45 m claim applies near the lower vertical FOV; effective range falls toward the upper edge. From 0.1 to 0.2 m, point data is reference-only; small or dark objects within 0.1–1 m are not guaranteed.
- Web specifications and User Manual v1.0: about 4.2 W normal; Product Information v1.0: 4 W at 25°C. The difference is unresolved.
- This is a distinct model from Mid-360 and Mid-360S. Its 12 V minimum supply and changed dimensions require a fresh integration review; no drop-in compatibility is claimed.
- September 2026 manual and September 21 download dates establish available documentation, not an independently confirmed launch date.
- Livox lists 12 months for the relevant product family and limits service to the purchase region; this does not establish Sourcebotics warranty coverage for a particular shipment.

Discuss this configurationFAQ
Does the 100 m cutoff mean 100 m detection on dark objects?
No. Livox specifies a typical 45 m at 10% reflectivity and 100 klx; the longest range is near the lower vertical FOV. The 100 m cutoff is a different limit.
Can Mid-360L use an unchanged Mid-360 installation?
That has not been established. MID-360L specifies 12–27 V rather than a 9 V minimum, has different dimensions and needs matching SDK/driver versions. Review mounting, cables, synchronization and configuration.
Is a 4 W supply sufficient?
No. Documents list 4 W or 4.2 W normal power, while the manual specifies about 14 W startup for about one second. Size the supply using startup demand and voltage at the sensor.
Has Sourcebotics tested this unit?
No. This page records manufacturer documentation reviewed on September 22, 2026. Hardware performance, delivered firmware and seller terms remain to be confirmed.
