Unitree Robotics 宇树科技Self-reported
Hangzhou · est. 2016 · 500–1,000 staff

China's highest-volume legged-robotics maker — quadrupeds (Go2, B2), humanoids (G1, R1, H1) and an in-house component line (Dex5 hand, joint actuators, L2 LiDAR). Open SDKs and aggressive pricing make it the default first buy for research labs.

FAQ

Is the R1 useful for real tasks?

It's the floor for a walking biped: ideal for education, locomotion research and algorithm work. It is not a manipulation or deployment platform — no hands, ~1 h runtime.

Why is it so cheap?

Lightweight frame, smaller actuators, and Unitree's vertical supply chain. The R1 exists to seed the developer ecosystem — expect the floor to keep dropping.
